Info:
1. Thanks to President Perillo, the loop between the Rec Center Sign-in/and our club is now closed. Dave Parrish has volunteered to keep the Rec Center updated so all can now sign-in. Hey Y’all, we have other need to be filled Volunteer positions.
2.Election results will be available on Monday Late.
3. The scoreboard burned out a ‘chip’ in the console. The part is ordered and on the way. Hopefully next week for repair.
4. Clarification: Heather Johnson is a Realtor who works for Caldwell Banker Realty. There is no company as HR Johnson Realty. It is against Realty Law to advertise as a false company. Let’s decided to rename the team: ‘Team HR Johnson’, Good?
Game 1: Team HR Johnson - 9 Encore Floors - 3
(Dolly Wolf - Back in Action)
Team HR Johnson came swinging although a quite 1st inning they brought it flying for the rest of the 5 innings played. They not only were singing the converted their 20 hits to runs. On the other side, Encore Floors banged out 18 only taped the tape 3 times. Extra bases were 2 doubles one by Sott Dannen and one by Sub - Mike Dahnert. Dahnert and Sharon Staeb were 3/3. Nice!
The other side of the field saw Kevin Schuck Tripling for the only extra bagger. Kevin Schuck and Dick Lemoine were golden as they were 3/3.
Game 2: Desert Sun Embroidery - 4 Larry Ott - 3
(The Baseball Game)
The hit count was even: 15/15. Extra Bases totaled 2 between both teams.Rachel Ott Tripled Manager Schneeberg handed out a nice double. The Embroiders Had their Manager Bev Burger go 3/3. Eddie Carino went 2/2. No one was perfect on Larry Ott Realty.
This is a tough one to write up as it was mostly defensive and at that ‘Even-Steven’ though out the game. After the first 2 innings Desert Sun held the lead to the closing bell.
Game 3: Sun Canyon Bank - 13 Ideal Insurance - 11
(The close but ‘No Cigar’ game)
WoW! 13 - 9 on the flip. Ideal smokes 2 around to make it 11 with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Rally caps were canted and then….bada-boom 3 outs. The groans echoed from the home side Bleachers. Fans were tearing up their season tickets. Ideals manager was pelted with empty milk cartons. Alas the fans are so fickle.
The hit count was in favor of the winners 21/19. Idea had three extra bases 2 doubles and a triple. The doublers were 84 year old Ernie Huxhold with 2 of them and the rock, AKA Glenn Seeley. It should be noted that Huxhold would have been 3/3 but chose to blast on deep for a Sacfli. The triple was bagged by the injured and now recovered, Mark Wells.
Seeley, Wells and McLaughlin were golden at 3/3. Tom Conway was a solid 3/4. Ross Kenney scored a run as a courtesy runner.
Sir Nick Prestia is becoming the ‘Don Schula’ of SCW. The most winningest Coach. The secret? His wife makes up the lineup!
Mike Dahnert banged a round-tripper to the wall and Slugger, ‘Steven Carr’ added 2 doubles.
Truth be known Sun Canyon Lead from Gate to Finish line. Everyone on Team ‘Sun Canyon Bank’ had at least one hit.
Epilogue: A Repost: No games made it to the 7th inning. Let’s put a bit more ‘Pride in the Stride’ and ‘Pep in the Steps’ and we can get one more inning of softball in! You can do it! So Do It!
