AL Write-Up - January 23 2026
The League Champions will be decided on the last games of the session. Will it be Western Bank or Liberty Buick?
Game 1: Camino Del Sol vs Home Smart
Camino scored a solo run after a Mark Sertic Sac Fly. Home Smart scored 3 runs after a Frank Mervyn 2B followed by a Larry Adams sacrifice RBI 3-1 Home.
Top of 2nd Camino added 3 runs to take a 4-3 lead. Bottom half Home held scoreless still 4-3.
Camino Del Sol was held scoreless over the next 4 innings while Home Smart added some security with 6 runs on 8 hits included a 2B from Jeff Tyler 9-4.
Into the open inning 7th, the gravediggers scored 5 runs on 7 hits the big hit a 2B from Ed Prather tied the game at 9-9. Home Smart put up 4 hits scoring the game winner coming from Mark Landhauis for the 10-9 win.

Game 2: Western Bank vs Classic Car Wash
Western scored 2 runs over the first 4 innings. Al Renico(sub) 3B and a Bob Kuehl 2B. Classic scored a run after back to back 2B from Eric Sorber and Greg Lowery, with bases loaded Matt Schacht(sub) 3B cleared the bases scoring max 4 runs 4-2 Classic.
Both teams scoreless in the 4th inning.
Western deposits 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks to take the lead 5-4. Classic failed to score in bottom of 5th still 5-4. 
The Bankers added another 3 runs after a Gary Mulkins sliding 2B to the LC fence extended lead 8-4. Car Wash pushed 2 runs in after 5 hits to close gap 8-6.
Western failed to score in open inning after a Bob Kuehl lead off 2B. Classic loaded the bases but couldn’t find a run as Western secured the win 8-6 and at a minimum a tie for first place.

Game 3: Liberty Buick vs Edward Jones
After the early win by Western Bank, Liberty Buick had all the pressure needing a win to maintain a tie for first place. Liberty Buick never trailed in this game scoring 7 runs in the first 2 innings, the big hit a Matt Schacht 2B. Edward Jones was held scoreless 7-0.
Top of 3rd The Cars keep the pedal floored scoring 3 more runs on 5 hits and 2 walks now 10-0. Jones showed some life answering with 3 runs after Steve Merrill 2B 10-3.
Top of 4th Liberty added a solo run after Sac RBI fly ball 11-3. The investors added a 3 run deposit to cut deficit in half after Mitch Czech doubled to RF wall 11-6. The Buicks plated 3 more runs after Lynn Johnson 2B extended the score 14-6.
Jones shut down in bottom of 6th created a flip flop where the investors quietly withdrew any further chances as they failed to score, final 14-6 Liberty Buick co- Champions winners of their last 7 games.

AL Write-Up - January 20 2026
With only 2 teams left in a dog fight for a chance at the league title, all eyes were on the first and last game of the day.
Game 1: Home Smart vs Liberty Buick
This would be a low scoring game as Home Smart plated a solo run in the top of the 1st on a Frank Mervin RBI sacrifice fly. Liberty scored 3 runs on 5 hits, 3-1 after 1 complete inning.
Over the next 3 innings both teams made outstanding defensive plays as Home Smart added another run while Liberty was blanked 3-2. SS Al Renico for Liberty made 2 great plays and LF Tony Perillo made two running catches.
Top of 5th Smart was held scoreless as the Buicks sped forward with a 4 run max inning. 5 straight hits and a Steve Mason RBI sacrifice fly gave Liberty the lead 7-2.
Top of the 6th Home Smart answered with 4 runs after back to back doubles from Brant Williams and Frank Mervyn tightened the game to 7-6. Liberty pushed a lone run across to go ahead 8-6 heading into open inning the 7th.
After the first 2 batters singled a fly out and fielders choice pushed a run in to get within 1 run with 2 outs. Liberty coaxed a fly out to RC to end the game with a 8-7 win. Liberty setting the tone with their 7th win in a row putting pressure on league leaders Western who play later in the day.

Game 2: Classic Car Wash vs Edward Jones
Classic scored 2 runs in top of 1st after doubles from Greg Lowery and Dave Utzinger. Jones answered with 3 runs after doubles from Randy Coutts and Tim Barkes.
Top of 2nd Classic added 1 run as Jones added 2 runs from a Cliff Chapin double 5-3. Both teams failed to score in the 3rd, both added a run in the 4th now 6-4 Investors.
Car Wash pushed 2 runs in over the next 2 innings and held Jones Boys scoreless to tie the game at 6-6.
Classic was able to score a run leading 7-6 into bottom of 7th. 2 fly outs and a ground ball to 1st ended the game for Jones. Classic win.

Game 3: Western Bank vs Camino Del Sol
Western needed a win to maintain a 1 game lead in the Standings heading into one final game. Camino looking to be a spoiler. Western came out swinging with 3 runs in the 1st inning, then max 4 runs in the next 2 innings on 15 hits including doubles from Buckley Simmons(sub) and Bob Kuehl. Camino scored 8 runs over 3 innings also on 15 hits. Doubles from Dan Gates, Brian Hotze and Rodney Roth, 11-8 Western Bank.
Both teams failed to score in the 4th inning.
Western deposited a solo run in top of the 5th as the gravediggers put up max 4 runs in bottom half on 6 straight hits to knot the game up at 12 all.
Camino held Western scoreless in the 6th then added another 4 runs the big blow a triple from Ed Prather to give Camino a 16-12 lead. Western lost its deposit slips going scoreless giving Camino the win.
Pete Nardella for Camino made his debut in the pitchers circle to the delight of those watching. The Western loss combined with the earlier Liberty win knotted up the standings with a tie for first place. One game remaining with determine the league champions.
