Another stunning weather day in Arizona as the first week of league play ends!
Game 1: Classic Car Wash vs. Western Bank
Not much offense in this game as Both teams were blanked in the 1st two innings 6 up 6 down. In the top of 3rd Classic put up 2 runs after back to back hits followed by an Eric Sorber 3B into the RF corner scored both runners 2-0. Western blanked again. Top of 4th Classic failed to score Bottom half Western broke the goose egg after a Dan Griffiths RBI sacrifice fly 2-1. No scoring in the 5th as both teams then tallied 1 run in the 6th 3-2 Classic. The Car Wash added some wax putting up 3 runs batting around the order to extend lead to 6-2. Western Bank couldn’t get out of the drive up window depositing another blank giving Classic the win.

Game 2: Home Smart vs Camino
Lots of scoring in this contest as both teams lead on and off. Both teams put up 2 runs in the 1st. In the top of 2nd Home Smart added 1 run in the bottom half Camino added 2, 4-3. After 4 hits the Realtors added a solo run to tie game but in the bottom of the inning Camino put a 3 spot up to regain the lead 7-4. Home added another 2 runs trailing by a run. It was short lived the Gravediggers put up max 4 runs on 6 hits including a 2B by Rodney Roth 11-6. Top of 5th Home added 4 run max on 5 hits and 2 fielders Choices then held Camino 11-10 Home Smart. Top of 6 Smart added a run to tie game 11-11. For 2nd straight inning Camino wasn’t open for business tie game into open inning. Home Smart drew a blank setting up a final at bat for Camino. Conrad Milan lead off with a 2B to wall, advanced to 3rd on ground out. The next 2 batters intentionally walked to load basses for Dan Gates who stroked a Game winning 1B to give Camino a 12-11 victory.

Camino: Greg Bisnett 3-4 BB, Dan Gates 4-5, Greg Andres 4-4, Rodney Roth 3-4 2B
Game 3: Edward Jones vs Liberty Buick
Jones made a quick 3 run deposit on 6 hits including a Mitch Czech 2B . Liberty answered in bottom half with 2 runs after Steve Wolf 2B. Into 2nd neither team scored still 3-2. Jones added 2 more runs to extend lead 5-2. The Cars added some fuel putting up 4 run max after 2 outs as Lynn Johnson 3B and Jerry Bartholomaus 2B gave the Buicks the lead for the first time 6-5. The Cars would never trail again as the defense blanked the investors without another run the rest of the way after adding 4 more insurance runs for a final of 10-5.
