Susi’s Home Cleaning – 14 AZ Fans and Blinds – 6
Susi’s amassed 26 hits on their way to clinching the 2026 Spring session championship via a 14-6 win over Az Fans and Blinds. Mark Metevia and sub Jerry Bianchi added to the hit total with four hits each. Following close behind with three hits were Rich Cherry, John Derylo and Dave Peterson (2B). Ron Stallbaum legged out a double for Susi’s other extra base hit. Joe Calloway led AZ Fans with four hits. Teammates Ky Slickers, Jim Fieser and Bill Connor followed close behind with three hits. Sub Glen Hower had two doubles for AZ Fans.
Desert Rose - 9 Team Peterson – 10
Team Peterson and Desert Rose were knotted at eight after four innings and then remained that way through the seventh. Desert Rose scored one in the top of the seventh to take a one run lead. However, with two outs in the bottom half Team Peterson rallied for two runs to grab the exciting win. Despite the win Team Peterson was outhit by Deser Rose 22-16. Lee Anderson was the sole batter for Team Peterson to have more than two hits as he put up three. Todd Zarbock had a double for Peterson. For Desert Rose Jesse Nelson had four hits including a double. Tony Matthews and sub Mike Lavis were good for three hits each . Sub Mark Krska rewarded Desert Rose with two doubles.
Paul Tone – 4 Hole N One – 9
Trailing 4-2 after four Hole N One and pitcher Dave Baldwinm held Paul Tone in check the remainder of the game as Hole N One scored late to take a 9-4 win. The bottom of the order led Hole N One as the 9 & 10 batters Dave Bennett and sub Jerry Bianchi each totaled three hits. Bianchi’s hit total included two doubles. Jeff Silbaugh also smoked two doubles and Bill McGruder added one more. For Paul Tone Glen Hower strung together four hits followed by thr three of Ken Rau and Ken McGraw. McGraw used his speed to scamper into second for a double.
Phoenix Sports - 13 Thrive Healing Center – 14
Another game decided in the final inning. With the game tied at 11 after six innings Phoenix Sports pushed across two runs in the top half of the seventh to take the lead. Thrive Healing rallied to score three in the bottom half with the winning runs scoring courtesy of a Gene Klein hit. Sub Mike Fussel led Thrive with four hits which included a triple and a double. Steve Engels and sub Tom Albanese each registered three hits. Dan Morrison circled the bases for an inside the park home run and knocked in three runs. Three Phoenix Sports batters amassed four hits. They were Craig Sorenson, John Wooding (3 RBIs), and John Case (2-2B). Brian Melody and John Skubic (2B) added three hits to the total. Dave Braley also somoked a double for Sports.
Saini Smiles – 14 Canyon State – 14
Another slugfest as Saini Smiles and Canyon State battled to a 14-14 tie. Both teams combined for 56 hits. Jay Marty (2B) reached bade five times for Smiles. He was ably aided by the 40ur hits of Rich Berndt, Rick Staeb (2B), and Mike Fussell (2B). Dave Parrish (2B) and Jim Linzmeier joined the hit parade with three each. Parrish had four RBIs and Fussell three. Canyon State was led by the four hits of Don Wickersham and Rod Staeb (2B). Larry Shively had three hits and knocked in four while Lloyd Styrwoll also had three with a double. Jim Dohrmann and Bruce Marren both added doubles for State.
